PRE-DRYER / TRABATTO
The pre-dryer (Trabatto), consists of a vibrating conveyor, which makes a circuit on several levels (usually 7) inside the machine. During this circuit, the pasta is ventilated and heated to a low temperature, while the vibrations prevent it from sticking together.

The trabatto is used before the final drying treatment of the pasta, i.e. before the static dryers or the drying tunnel, in the case of industrial pasta lines.

The purpose of this treatment is to stabilise the pasta, limit its deformation and reduce the drying time.

The "Trabatto" can also be used for surface drying of fresh pasta and ravioli, after pasteurisation or, in the absence of pasteurisation, before packaging in a modified atmosphere.
